"The founders of [redacted]" is a pixel-art point & click adventure. It's the fourth installment in a series, following Uncle Lee strikes again, Once upon a Möbius strip, and Not enough time. Knowledge of the previous games is not required, as it is a standalone story.

You play as Ines, a 19-year-old (yes, she's older now!) aspiring writer. Hoping to find peace and inspiration for her second novel, she's about to spend a few weeks in  [redacted], her uncle Lee's hometown. On her arrival she finds a mysteriously empty town, and her book-writing plans are derailed as she is recruited to save [redacted] from a paranormal infestation.

Depending on your playing style, the game should take 1-2 hours to complete.

The game is free to play. If you enjoy it, consider sharing it with other people and/or donating. We would really appreciate that and it will help us keep making games! As a bonus, if you donate more than $5 you get the game's soundtrack!

This was so much fun! Going to go play the rest of your Ines games ASAP <3

Looks very cool!

Just played through it for the first time, and have to say the game is incredible! It's like everything that we loved about the previous games ramped up to the max: the humor, the puzzles and the lovable weirdness of the characters.

We also noticed that you mentioned in the description that some new translations will be available soon. Would you be interested in adding Ukrainan localization? Our team would be thrilled to work on translating another installment in the series, since we developed a bit of fan-club while translating Not Enough Time during LocJAM!

We're happy you are enjoying the game! We are very proud of it :)

Thank you for the localization offer. At the moment the game is not set up for Cyrillic (neither of the fonts used support it), so further localizations in non-latin scripts are going to have to wait. We'll keep you in mind if/when the time comes, though!

That's completely understandable! Please do give us a shout if you ever decide to add Ukrainian, if needed, we believe our font designers could give you a hand with the fonts too ;) Either way, thanks for the response and for making such lovely games, we wish you the best of luck!

Hi there! Did someone mention a need for localization? :) because I would eagerly create Polish versions of the remaining games in the series :D one question though. Are all the other games already localization-friendly (meaning all the in-game texts have been externalized to their own separate files, just like it was in Not enough Time) or are the text lines (dialogues, menus, etc.) hardcoded into the games’ source code? And it’ s all (still) Lua files, correct? Then I am all set :) Best regards, Natalia Ryś

EDIT: Oops. Of course localization of in-game graphics: posters, signboards and the like is on the table too :) Didn’t do it for Not enough Time (simply because… well, there was NOT ENOUGH TIME for that… or poor time management on my side ;D but this time I would do it!

Thanks for the offer! We’ve been thinking about what to do with the other games in terms of translations (and possibly update them to bring in features from the latest game). We’ll keep you in mind if we decide to add Polish versions.

And yes, all the games are set up for translations (if nothing else because we always have to translate them in Italian ourselves).

I amazed by your work, I had been considering creating a point and click in Love2D and you have successfully done it and more.  I had a look at the source code and it's quite easy to understand.  Would you consider releasing the framework to your adventure game engine.  Tis truly amazing.

Thanks!

I already released the three most important parts of the engine (pathfinding, multitasking, dialogues):

Everything else is either gluing things together or having to do with inputs and GUIs.

I originally intended to release the whole thing, but it accumulated too much cruft and I don't have time to polish it and write a decent documentation for it. What I will likely do when I have a bit of time is releasing the engine source as is, so people can use it as a starting point.

excellent, i'll investigate this and the source code and try and pull it apart as much as i can :)
